A Visit To Niagara Falls

We visited Niagara Falls last summer of 2009. Although this is already a late post about it the memories are always alive and vivid in my mind. It was a wonderful experience for me and thee kids. We crossed the border and stayed in Niagara Canada. We rode on the maid of the mist to see the grand beauty of the waterfalls. There are a lot of stuff to see around. We also went to see the butterfly garden. I have learned how sensitive butterflies are and they are not supposed to be touched by humans. You should just let them land on you without force because their body covering is very sensitive. The blue butterflies were my favorite.

Ocean City

I have seen the atlantic ocean yesterday. We went to ocean city which is just two miles away from atlantic city. You can even see atlantic city from where we were. The place was beautiful and it usually gets a lot of people in the summertime. I like it when I can hardly see a lot of people in the beach. It was my first time to go there. I just love it. The kids love it too. They played with the sand for a little while and it reminded them of the Philippines. It is an hour away from home.

How Far Have I Travelled?

I spend every dime I get mainly for the love of travelling. I have been to some cities in the Philippines that my restless feet has longed for. I went to Bohol more than a couple of times and fell in love with the place. It is tourist destination nevertheless so peaceful and quiet. I went to Cagayan de Oro, Boracay, Negros, Manila, Tagaytay, Laguna andhave known almost every nook in Cebu since I have studied my college there. Boracay was most touristy and most expensive place I have travelled. Travelling is one experience that cannot be compensated with classroom learning. It leaves a lasting impression in me. My first out of the country travel experience was gong to Hongkong. I paid 5000 pesos one way that is around a hundred bucks ut my husband bought my return ticket for 300 buck on the way back. Hongkong has one of the biggest airport. We rode a train going to the outband passenger's area. One day I want to go to Thailand, Singapore and Japan. I will bring my kids to Disneyland in Japan or Hongkong but for now I have to work, work and work.
Now that I am here in the US, I have been to Chicago Illinois,Memphis Tennessee, Baltimore and Cumberland Maryland, Philadelphia and Hanover Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I want to see the statue of Liberty in New York, visit Disneyland and Hollywood in California, the White House in Washington DC. The thought of it really excites me. I never thought dreams would come true but if you keep believing and work for it nothing would come your way.

Casaroro Falls in Dumaguete, Philippines

I visited this place around 5 years ago. It was one memorable nature trek for me because it was some kind of a prize for helping the supervisors make the Science Lesson Guides. I was honored to be with the supervisors who went there. Ma'am Dulangon was so kind and motherly to us. The place is so peaceful and truly beautiful. It takes a long hike to be able to see such wonderful waterfall. An experience that I would never forget in this lifetime.

In the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental located 9.4 kilometers west of Dumaguete City lies the beautiful Casaroro Falls considered to be the most photographed waterfall in the entire Negros province.

Casaroro Falls is lodged deep into the rock crevices of the rugged Valencia mountains. With an astounding height of 100 feet, the water plunges into a deep cold basin before it flows down to a stream. The waterfall is considerably narrow, instead of the usual wide cascade, but this is precisely what makes Casaroro unique. Though despite its narrowness, the volume of water that drops is heavy and causes a roar as it touches the pool. Around the basin are natural boulders huge enough to rest any traveler’s weary feet.

Kawasan Falls

On Terry's first visit in the Philippines, we spent our time together nature trekking. Our feet led us to Kawasan Falls. The humidity has kept him sweating while I kept wiping him up. I didn't know that he was impressed that I did it for him. lol. But that was the beginning of a beautiful personal encounter with each other.

A brief trip brings you to the famous Kawasan Waterfalls, a three tiered cascade of crystal clear mountain springs. Enjoy the picnic to lush scenery, tropical forest, and a cool swim. A very unique experience. Located in Badian, south of Cebu.

Kawasan Falls are where a river falls steeply down the hills above the town of Matutinao, just south of Badian (Pls. note that Matutinao is part of Badian). It is actually a hierarchy of waterfalls, of which the first is the biggest, however the scenery gets wilder and more impressive the further up you go.
Some 98 km (or 2,5 -3 hours drive) south-west of Cebu you'll find Kawasan Falls. From the parking area you'll have to walk more or less 15 to 30 minutes along a very rocky and narrow path, but even though it is a bit humbling bumbling it is worth it, just take it easy and enjoy the walk along the beautiful river. Look at all the different kind of tropical plants -it is not every day you'll have that many beautiful impressions.

You'll have to cross 3 small bridges before reaching the falls, even though you might feel for passing them very fast, try to stop at the middle of number 3 and look upstream, your camera will jump for pleasure if you allow it to take a few shots and you will have a forever lasting picture of what might have been, or- is Paradise.
