Casaroro Falls in Dumaguete, Philippines

I visited this place around 5 years ago. It was one memorable nature trek for me because it was some kind of a prize for helping the supervisors make the Science Lesson Guides. I was honored to be with the supervisors who went there. Ma'am Dulangon was so kind and motherly to us. The place is so peaceful and truly beautiful. It takes a long hike to be able to see such wonderful waterfall. An experience that I would never forget in this lifetime.

In the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental located 9.4 kilometers west of Dumaguete City lies the beautiful Casaroro Falls considered to be the most photographed waterfall in the entire Negros province.

Casaroro Falls is lodged deep into the rock crevices of the rugged Valencia mountains. With an astounding height of 100 feet, the water plunges into a deep cold basin before it flows down to a stream. The waterfall is considerably narrow, instead of the usual wide cascade, but this is precisely what makes Casaroro unique. Though despite its narrowness, the volume of water that drops is heavy and causes a roar as it touches the pool. Around the basin are natural boulders huge enough to rest any traveler’s weary feet.

Kawasan Falls

On Terry's first visit in the Philippines, we spent our time together nature trekking. Our feet led us to Kawasan Falls. The humidity has kept him sweating while I kept wiping him up. I didn't know that he was impressed that I did it for him. lol. But that was the beginning of a beautiful personal encounter with each other.

A brief trip brings you to the famous Kawasan Waterfalls, a three tiered cascade of crystal clear mountain springs. Enjoy the picnic to lush scenery, tropical forest, and a cool swim. A very unique experience. Located in Badian, south of Cebu.

Kawasan Falls are where a river falls steeply down the hills above the town of Matutinao, just south of Badian (Pls. note that Matutinao is part of Badian). It is actually a hierarchy of waterfalls, of which the first is the biggest, however the scenery gets wilder and more impressive the further up you go.
Some 98 km (or 2,5 -3 hours drive) south-west of Cebu you'll find Kawasan Falls. From the parking area you'll have to walk more or less 15 to 30 minutes along a very rocky and narrow path, but even though it is a bit humbling bumbling it is worth it, just take it easy and enjoy the walk along the beautiful river. Look at all the different kind of tropical plants -it is not every day you'll have that many beautiful impressions.

You'll have to cross 3 small bridges before reaching the falls, even though you might feel for passing them very fast, try to stop at the middle of number 3 and look upstream, your camera will jump for pleasure if you allow it to take a few shots and you will have a forever lasting picture of what might have been, or- is Paradise.

Marine Life Sanctuary

On the way to Balicasag Island

Balicasag Island, Panglao
Bohol, Philippines

During Terry's third visit in the Philippines on July 2007 we went to Bohol. This was our second time touring Bohol. We just simply love the place that we keep comng back there. One of Bohol's prominent attractions is the white sand beaches found in Panglao. It also has a marine sanctuary and diving area located just across Panglao island. Balicasag Island is another smaller island that can be found in Panglao Bohol, Philippines. It is located in the Visayas area. The island's crystal blue waters gives a vivid view of the corals, fishes and other marine life living in it. There you can feed the fish and enjoy being around them. It is a wonderful place because the people are nice, food is good and it is very peaceful.
